The Return of Poldark 7 / 10 / 2016

Poldark in Cornwall

You cannot have missed the return of Poldark to our screens! This series remake has stolen the nation’s hearts with the love story of Demelza and Ross and the romance of the Cornish scenery. The golden light and epic vistas have many swooning at not just the stars. For those who don’t know, ‘Poldark’ started life as novels written by Winston Graham, first published in 1945. The 1970s saw a television adaptation and just last year the BBC brought it back. Set in the 18th century in our fair Cornwall, Ross Poldark tries to turn around the fortunes of his late father’s estate. With a social conscience, a complex family and a wife as wild and independent as the scenery, its great viewing.

If you are playing location spots then this season takes us all over Cornwall. Padstow’s coastline is on show with Levlizzick and the spectacular views across the Camel Estaury and Tregirls beach, Beautifully places to explore. As well as returning favourites like Charlestown, Kynance Cove and our rugged Bodmin Moor.

We love the drama and a script that pulls at your heart strings, but also how Cornwall is shown in all its natural glory. You can take a Poldark tour with Cornwall Discovery, your personal guide will drive you to the hidden beaches and special places only locals and location scouts know! Or just follow your feet, wherever you go in Cornwall wont disappoint! The second series is running on BBC 1 on Sundays at 9pm.
