Heritage Open Days – Free Cornwall 5 / 9 / 2018

Trerice free for september heritage open days cornwall

Have you heard of the brilliant Heritage Open Days? For a few dates in September across the country beautiful, important and historic places are available for you to visit – for free!

In Cornwall we have 40 places open to the public, near us at Rooke Cottages you can enjoy a walk through the Vale of Avalon including a 13th century longhouse and Lady Falmouth’s Arcadian garden. With a play area and exhibition room this is a lovely site for the family to explore. You can see the site of King Arthur’s last battle too!

Towards Newquay you can find the magical Trerice. The Elizabethan Manor house is steeped in history and a great place for a Cornish cream tea.

In Tintagel you can visit the 600 year Old Post Office and explore the WI hall with an exhibition celebrating woman writers with links to the area.

If history and culture are your thing then September provides the perfect opportunity to visit great places, some not usually open to the public, and for free!

Check the website to see specific dates and times. This year the Heritage Open Days will be from the 6-9 & 13-16 September.
