August – the festival season 5 / 8 / 2014

There is just so much to do in Cornwall in August! If our lovely beaches, stunning cliff walks and unique little towns weren’t enough of an allure – then come for the music!

This weekend (06 – 07 August) we also have Playfest in Bosawen Park, Truro – a hands on arts and culture festival ideal for children and young adults. Celebrating creativity with theatre, painting, sculpture, dance, storytelling and circus skills.

If classical music is more your scene then the St Endellion Summer Music Festival 29th July – 08th August is a real gem. Famous soloists and orchestras, from Brahms to Stravinsky and in a truly beautiful location.

Further down the coast in Newquay is Boardmasters Surf, Skate and Music Festival; action sports and ASP World Tour Surfing as well as great music. A laid back festival with 8 stages and of course fantastic views!

Coming up soon is the Be Active festival in Truro 11th – 16th August with fun demonstrations and things the family can get stuck into.

Or if you tastes run to our four legged friends why not try the Tregony Heavy Horse Show and Country Fayre (10th August) which has sheep dogs, ponies, craft stalls and music – something for everyone.

In Wadebridge we have the Cornish Folk Festival 22nd – 25th August 2014 with rising young talents, traditional tunes and great singers. An event that keeps growing!

So as you can see, plenty do on your August holiday.
