The Royal Cornwall Show 2016

The focus of Cornwall from the 9 to 11 June, 2016, is the Royal Cornwall Show. Attracting 120,000 visitors each year, the agricultural show has quite a pull. But what can you expect to find? Well, aside from the free food tasters (yum), there is plenty to attract. The most handsome livestock will be judged, find fine flowers, show jumping, Cornish wrestling (lots of hugging), a huge dog show, steam fair, craft stalls, health and beauty products…the list goes on. Entertainment for everyone.

The very first show was held at the Red Lion Inn in Truro over 200 years ago, and was basically a ploughing match between local farmers! Slightly bigger now, you can embrace all things Cornish. Being royal you may spot a member of the family such as Prince Charles. Originally started in 1793, the show had varying sites, but today you will find it at the showground on the outskirts of Wadebridge.

One of the best things to do at the show is just to wander around the stalls and see all that Cornwall produces. From the tastiest food, local wines, hand-made crafts – meet business large and small and sample the best of the county.
