Dog on the beach in Cornwall

Don’t leave your trusted canine friend at home, some of our cottages are pet friendly. Cornwall is a great county to holiday for both you and your pooch. All the cottages on our farm have private gardens and being nestled in the countryside there is so much scope for great walks – even if it is just to the local pub!

When it comes to beaches most allow dogs out of season but here are a few on the north coast of Cornwall where dogs are welcome all through the year:

• Boobys Beach

• Constantine Bay

• Crantock Beach

• Daymer Bay

• Harbour Cove (Tregirls beach)

• Harlyn Bay

• Mawgan Porth

• Port Isaac beach

• Rock beach

• Trebarwith Strands

Check out our beach guide of you would like to find out our pick of Cornwall’s great beaches. The Southwest Coastal Path run an annual competition for the best dog walking stretch of the 630-mile trail and North Cornwall often comes top. In particular the beautiful route of Padstow to Harlyn Bay was the favourite in 2015. It is a 7 mile circular walk that takes in dramatic views and has plenty of exercise for you and your dog.

With acres to explore on Bodmin moor and our famous Camel Trail in Wadebridge, with breath taking views of the estuary, there is no shortage of places to stroll.

Quite a few attractions are happy for you to take dogs and some restaurants and pubs welcome a friendly mutt or two. Locally, St. Kew Inn has a lovely garden and dogs are allowed in the public bar, and at the Malsters Arms dogs can be in the snug area. Or for something extra special, the Rock Inn and Blue Tomato even serve a doggy treat menu!

After all that exercise why not treat your happy hound? Paws for Cake is a Cornish company baking rather delicious looking treats for dogs. All handmade and with quality ingredients, perfect for the discerning foodie!
